This next set of photos are from a Burrell boiler that we are currently working on. I have included some 'before' photos. I would add that the engine had been driven 'home' with the tubes leaking and then left 'parked up', untouched for several years. This is how she was.



There are some other photos on the workshop page. Here is the box going in. David in charge of maneovers and Sam driving the forktruck.
The box is now rivetted in. We just have the corners to do. And David has been busy since he also has the stays wound in too.
Another Burrell . . .
These next photos are from the work of a compound Burrell traction engine. A box, tubeplate, smokebox - beautiful !
Curved shape to the top of the Burrell box with crown stays. Also a palm stay is fitted from the base of the barrell to the front tubeplate of the firebox. Two longditudinal stays in this case.
